Violet Essential Oil: Therapeutic Properties and Applications

Violet essential oil is a mild and gentle essential oil with a wide range of therapeutic properties, including:

• Aromatherapy: Violet essential oil is commonly used in aromatherapy to enhance mental health,
•  promote calmness, tranquillity, and relaxation,
•  eliminate stress, nerves, and mental fatigue,
•  promote inspiration and reflection,
•  comfort when dealing with grief or loss,
• encourage acceptance of change and independence,
•  relieve headaches, migraines, and stiff necks associated with tension,
•  relieve insomnia or sleep disorders related to stress or anxiety, and enhance libido and stimulate relaxation to overcome any difficulties caused by stress or anxiety.
• Topical application: Violet essential oil can be applied topically to soothe conditions such as
• eczema,
• dermatitis,
•  rosacea, and psoriasis,
•  dryness, itchiness, or general redness and inflammation;
•  diminish acne and tighten enlarged pores;
•  relieve stress-related skin disorders;
• treat and prevent cellulite and oedemas;
•  soothe stiff and sore joints and muscle aches; and repel mosquitoes.
  

Other uses: Violet essential oil can be added to foot baths or baths to relieve tired and aching feet, moisturize dry, hard, and damaged skin, soothe and treat athlete's foot, fungal infections of the nails, cuts, and abrasions, and offer complete relaxation and pain relief.

Note: Essential oils are extremely potent and must always be diluted in a natural oil (such as almond, coconut, grape seed, or jojoba oil) before application to the skin, scalp, or hair. Ratio: 1 drop to 5ml oil.

Application of Violet Essential Oil

• Aromatherapy: Add a few drops of violet essential oil to a diffuser or oil burner.
• Sleep disorders: Add violet essential oil to a diffuser; add to water and spritz on the pillow and sheets; apply topically to the soles of the feet, wrists, and temples; or add a few drops to a warm bath.
• Treatment of fungus: Topical application to the affected area.
• Skin care: Apply violet essential oil topically or add a few drops to moisturizer or body lotion.
• Massage: Dilute 3 drops of violet essential oil in 15-20 ml of base oil.
• Bath: Add a few drops of violet essential oil to a bath product.
• Feet: Add a few drops of violet essential oil to a bowl of warm water.
